One of the highest grossing and most critically acclaimed movies of 2014 was Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi epic, Interstellar. Set in the near future, Earth has been devastated by drought and famine and humanity is facing extinction; and a group of explorers led by Cooper, played by Matthew McConahey, must leave the earth in search of a planet that can sustain life and save humanity.
The movie raises some of the big questions of life: who are we? what are we made to be? are we worth saving? can we save ourselves? is there more to life than just what we see?
I don’t know where you’re at in your faith journey, but if you are anything like me you have probably asked questions about life and faith. Is there a God? Is there more to life than just work, eat, play, sleep? Why is there so much suffering in the world? And what is the purpose of life? Whatever your questions, we want to invite you to bring your questions and come along to Alpha.
Alpha is an opportunity for you to explore the questions of life in a relaxed, informal and fun environment. Alpha is a place where you can ask questions and have honest conversations about faith in a no-pressure environment. Our Alpha launch night is on Tuesday 14th April at 6.45pm – each night on Alpha we will have Dinner together, we’ll hear a talk and then share in discussion over coffee. We would love to welcome you to be part of it. You can register today for our launch night. We hope you’ll join us at Alpha. And if you are checking out our website today from somewhere else in Melbourne or around Australia, check out the Alpha website to find the Alpha nearest to you.
