We are looking for suitable volunteers to participate in an exciting new program "Helping Hand Learning", which has been designed to expand on the success of our "Helping Hand Café".

Our aims are to:

  1. Offer support and learning opportunities to those who suffer literacy disadvantage in our community
  2. To build participant ‘life skills’ incorporating a holistic approach to basic language, financial and technology literacy
  3. To build Helping Hand Learning into a drop-in style community resource encouraging involvement by a wide range of participants and volunteers

We will train and support you as you adapt your skills to become a part of our team.

To volunteer you must have:

  • Good general literacy skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Listening skills
  • Commitment, compassion and patience
  • Flexibility, reliability and punctuality
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills
  • Willingness to take direction from a Co-ordinator
  • Your own means of transport

It would be great if you also:

  • Have computer skills and familiarity with the internet
  • Live reasonably close to Williamstown

DO YOU FEEL INSPIRED TO PARTICIPATE?

Then email or fax your expression of interest with a 1-2 page CV to the office with a heading of “Helping Hand Learning”. Our fax number is (03) 9397 8874.
